Arrivals and Departures---16-18 November 2015

Elder Harris just arrived to the Florida Orlando Mission. The AP's with him are Elder Langston and Elder Ashworth.
We are friends with John and Pam Harris the parents of this Elder.

Welcome to the Florida Orlando Mission Elder Harris. We are in the mission home just before dinner.
Elder Harris is a Spanish speaking Elder.

Devotional for the new arrivals. Song, Prayer, Introductions, Instructions, take their picture, and Role Play "talking to everyone you meet". During this meeting the New Arrivals go in one at a time to Interview with President Berry.

Departing--Sister Grosland, Sister Lokotui, and Sister Allred relax just before the departure dinner in the mission home.

Just a quick story. Elder Bean was texting and had the wrong number. The gentleman at the other end of the text said, "I was wishing this was the Mr Bean in the English comedy, and he texted him this picture.

In the Florida Orlando Mission Office

AP's Elders Langston and Ashworth as Charlie Chaplin who said: A Day without laughter is a day wasted.

Good Morning, Elder Bean the mission has really changed you.

Elder Ashworth is an Assistant to the President.

Primrose Center Service Project

The Primrose Center is a school for the mentally handicapped ie. special needs. There were 4 Wards in the Orlando Stake that got together on October 10th to paint, sod, weed/landscape, roof, and power wash the campus. There were hundreds of people that volunteered to work on this project. The white poles on the left were sanded and repainted. Notice the depression on the right, it was contoured by a back hoe to retain the water during a heavy rain.

This overhang was completely re shingled and the rotting plywood was ripped out and replaced. A team of men under the direction of a professional roofer spent the day on this project.

They painted this computer room bright yellow!

The garden boxes were cleaned out and in the near future this lawn will have a canopy

Senior district Family Home Evening

Every Monday night the Senior District meets for Family Home Evening at the Waterford Church in North East Orlando (Ovieto Area). We all take turns presenting a lesson. Elder Bean does a great job whenever it is our turn to present. He has done some inspiring slide show.
Elder and Sister Bird gave an inspiring talk on receiving revelation.

Kissimmee Lakefront Park Fall Festival--Halloween

Elder Lefholz, Elder Cortez, Elder Smith, Elder Blackburn at the Fall Festival in Kissimmee
It was a hot day--very hot for Halloween. The Buena Ventura branch is starting on Sunday.
It is the Spanish Branch--Elder Smith is a Spanish speaking Elder. He talked to someone at the
Festival that wants to start coming to that branch. These Elders did lots of contacting today.

We drove Mission Presidents to and from the airport for the Mission Presidents Conference.
President and Sister Hansen rode with us from the the Hotel on Halloween.

The "White Whale" is a mission van. This week it was used to transport Mission Presidents and their wives to and from the airport for the Mission Presidents Conference held in Orlando the end of October.

Here is a random picture of our apartment building on Halloween with all the trick or treaters out.
All the kids came about 6pm. We had a Halloween dinner party with Chili and  Cider about 7pm.

Trick or treat.

Here's where we live!
