Gracie Justesen's Baptism

Gracie Justesen (14) was baptized a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day-Saints by her father Justesen.

We attended Gracie Justesen's baptism with the Kissimmee Spanish Hermanas Rivera/and Moody.

These sisters are Gracie's aunts Mary Justesen Tucker and Maureen Justesen Fertic. They grew up on the church ranch. Their father J. Morris Justesen was the cowboy foreman for the "Orlando Livestock Company" (later named "Deseret Cattle and Citrus Ranch")  from July 1952 until March 1985

Bok Tower with Senior District 20Jun2015

I like Mr Bok's motto. Make the world a bit better or more beautiful because you have lived init--and that he did with this beautiful gardens and tower..

The Bok Tower is a beautiful 220 foot structure surrounded by gardens and a reflective pool. The senior district enjoyed lunch in the gardens and listened to the Carillon Bell Concert. It is a National Historic Monument.

Sister Johnson, Sister Walker, and I enjoyed the Carillon Bell Concert while eating lunch. The other seniors that attened were Westerns, Johnsons, Boyntons, Evans, Birds, and Hansens.

Temple Tour with Ronda and Robert

The sun is setting on this beautiful cloud formation--the clouds in Florida are majestic.

Beautiful clouds are constantly moving, forming, raining, and clearing

Robert and Ronda rode with us to the Orlando Temple for a lecture and tour.

Elder Hamp and Egan are teaching Robert and Ronda the lessons about the Restored Gospel of Jesus Christ.
They have two children Kyler (15 months) and Logan (2 months)

The stained glass windows on the temple grace this elegant building.

Brother Herzog has a power point lecture about the temple every Wednesday evening at 7pm in the church building across the street from the temple. The lecture is uplifting and informative and teaches why Mormon's build temples, Then everyone goes over to the temple grounds to walk around and enjoy the exquisite beauty of the temple and its surroundings.

Elder and Sister Western came to the temple tour from Leesburg with an investigator.

Fun weekend June 6, 7

Elder Glen and Sister Karen Spencer went with us to the Longwood Car Show in Historic Longwood District.
The home behind us is on the National Historic Registry. There were a few streets full of show cars which Elder Spencer especially enjoyed. Sorry I didn't get any pictures of them.

Samantha Ortis and Adalyn Gaston just graduated from high school (2015). Samantha and her father were recently baptized. Her mother will be baptized soon. Her story: About the time Sanabtha was praying that she could find understanding about God her father met the missionaries and was taking the discussions so she joined him. They both loved learning about the Restored Gospel of Jesus Christ. Adalyn has been a member all her life and she was praying that she could find someone  with whom she could share the gospel and Samantha was the answer to her prayer. The night before Samatha was baptized she was getting nervous about it. About that same time Adalyn sent her a text and told her that Satan would try to stop her from being baptized. That text came at just the right time to help Samantha calm her fears and understand her feelings.

We had Sunday pot roast dinner at Brother and Sister Hogland's house. Sister Hogland is Kissimmee Ward choir director and we have enjoyed singing in the choir. She asked Elder Bean to be her substitute and conduct the choir when she was out of town. He did just fine. On the left is Elder Hamp and Elder Egan and Brent Hogland is in the center. We talked about the movie "The Cokeville Miracle" based on a true story. We also learned that Granite Flats is filmed in Magna, UT.

Elder and Sister Stokes presented the lesson on setting a good example for Family Home Evening
It was only for a moment she wore the honorary hat and glasses while we sang Happy Birthday.
